No Android Gadgets In Office: The world’s biggest tech giant Microsoft has forbidden its employees in China from using Android phones. Not only this, according to reports, the company can take even more stringent steps regarding cyber security in its office in China. The company has instructed its employers to use Apple gadgets instead of Android devices.
Why did Microsoft take this decision?
According to reports, Google Mobile Services (GMS) is required to manage security levels like Authenticator and Identity Pass in Microsoft. However, many of Google’s services, including the Play Store, do not work in China.
You can guess this from the fact that Apple’s iOS store is available in China, but Google Play Store is not available. Instead, local smartphone brands like Huawei and Xiaomi have made their platforms available to the people. Experts believe that Android devices are easy to hack. On top of that, the absence of Google Play in China is increasing Microsoft’s tension.
Will use iPhone, not Android
According to the company, shutting down Android phones comes under its Secure Future Initiative. After this, employees at Microsoft will use iPhones instead of Android for office work. According to the information, the company will ban access to devices running on Android OS in its office campuses in China from September.
To make this decision easier, the company is giving iPhone 15 devices to the employees. The report also states that recently there were cyber attacks on US government agencies. Russia was said to be behind them. These security steps are being taken to prevent any such cyber attack.
